Hi! I’m Phil.
An award-winning writer who has worked across a wide range of genres and formats. My debut novel Cows Can’t Jump was published in 2020 with Neem Tree Press. It won the Spotlight First Novel Prize and was shortlisted for The Guardian’s ‘Not the Booker’ Prize and The People’s Book Prize.
I’ve also worked as a ghostwriter for Headline (Hachette UK), on Big Veg for Internet gardening sensation Gerald Stratford.
I’ve consulted on a variety of projects — from the development of a musical to a TV sitcom. I currently work as the Creative Director (Books and Storytelling) for The Wombles, the classic children’s entertainment brand.
